PREPMATTERS WELCOMES COLLEGE COUNSELOR LEAH WILLIAMS TO THEIR GROWING COUNSELING TEAM
Bethesda, MD. March 26, 2008 - PrepMatters, a leader in standardized test preparation, academic tutoring and educational counseling in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area, announced today that college counselor, Leah Williams, has joined the company's growing counseling team. She will assume limited responsibilities immediately and an expanded role beginning this summer.
Williams will be responsible for guiding high school students and their parents through the college admissions process. She will offer her advice on standardized test registration, high school course and extracurricular guidance, individualized assessment and recommendations of colleges, and application navigation, all with the goal of expanding opportunity while reducing anxiety.
"We are excited to have added a counselor who is experienced with all facets of college admissions," said Ned Johnson, founder and CEO of PrepMatters. "Leah brings with her firsthand knowledge of what a college admissions team is looking for in a candidate."
Prior to joining PrepMatters, Williams served as Assistant Director of Admissions for Georgetown University in Washington, DC working with applicants from Texas, the Plains states, and the Boroughs of New York City.
Following her tenure at Georgetown University, Williams became College Counselor for Lycée Rochambeau (The French International School) in Bethesda, MD, a position she will hold until the end of the 2007-08 school term. She is responsible for advising students who apply not only to American universities but also to Canadian, United Kingdom and European Universities. Serving also as standardized test coordinator and liaison with the College Board for the PSAT, SAT and APs, Williams understands well the intricacies of crucial admissions tests. She also advises students on both curricular and extracurricular choices, crucial components of advising that she will also offer her PrepMatters clients.
Williams received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Classical Studies. from Georgetown University.
