Overview
The Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT) is a two hour thirty five minute exam required by many private secondary schools for admission. The exam consists of the following four sections:

The Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT) is a two hour thirty five minute exam required by many private secondary schools for admission. The exam consists of the following four sections:
- Verbal: one 30 minute section that tests students' vocabularies using analogy and antonym questions
- Math: two 30 minute sections comprised of multiple choice math problem solving questions
- Reading Comprehension: one 40 minute section of reading comprehension questions based on seven short reading passages
- Writing Sample: one 25 minute writing sample that, while ungraded, is sent to schools as part of the score report
