Tests:
ACT, GRE, PSAT, SAT Subjects: History, Literature, Math
Philosophy:
Though it may look at first like a trial by fire, the SAT is just a hoop we all have to jump through on the way to college. With practice in text-taking techniques, we can harness what we already to know to jump faster and higher and land on the other side at our dream universities with a better vocabulary (chicks -- and employers -- dig it) and the ability to stay calm in the face of that first massive multiple-choice freshman biology exam. All it takes is a commitment to learning the skills that are consistently helpful on the test and to practicing them frequently so that good habits spring to mind even when the stress level is high.
Bio:
Austin Bonner took her SAT's the morning of her junior prom. Harnessing her frustration at the ETS's careless scheduling of the exam, she managed to score a 1510 and not chew through her manicure. Since then, she has tutored dozens of students for the SAT and college courses at The House of Tutors in Austin, Texas and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Texas with a B.A. in Government and Plan II Liberal Arts Honors. Austin particularly loves teaching for the writing section, for she has worked for a variety of publications, including Spin magazine. She currently resides in Washington, D.C. and works at the Democratic Leadership Council.
